Hansa Yellow is a synthetic yellow pigment used in oil paints. Hansa yellow pigments are lightfast and semitransparent. Hansa yellows were first made in Germany just before the World War I. [1]
Hansa yellow is a modern synthetic replacement for cadmium yellow. It makes more intense tints and cleaner secondary colors in mixtures with other synthetic pigments.
Hansa yellow may be both toxic and cancerogen. [2]
