Hard Rock Park will be a 140-acre rock 'n' roll theme park located in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The park will be located between Highway 501 and the Intracoastal Waterway on the site of the former Waccamaw Factory Shoppes in Fantasy Harbour. Construction of the park began on July 13, 2006, with a groundbreaking ceremony featuring "Mount RockMore", a 3 storey tall sand sculpture featuring the faces of John Lennon, Bob Marley, Elvis Presley, and Jimi Hendrix. Opening is scheduled for spring 2008. The Hard Rock name is being licensed from The Rank Group, current owners/operators of the Hard Rock Cafe brand, to HRP Myrtle Beach Operations, LLC, who is designing, building and will own a major share in the theme park.
The park will feature six custom-designed zones that, like Hard Rock Cafe locations, features elements from Rock music. The park will have over 40 attractions, including an amphitheater and a Hard Rock Hotel.

An on-site preview center is scheduled April 18, 2007. Although park developers have kept the details of the park secret, the preview center will give the public an in depth view of the parks' six zones, rides, and attractions. The center appears to be branded the "Backstage Tour" and should include mock ups of the park as its planned.[1][2]
