Detective Inspector Harry Haines was a police officer in the long running ITV drama The Bill. He was played by Gary Whelan.
He arrived at Sun Hill in September 1993 and did not spend long at Sun Hill (only 3 months) when he left in December 1993. Haines, who used to be part of the Drug Squad was forcibly transferred to Sun Hill CID. However, it only took Haines three months to get his transfer back to the Drug Squad. He returned to Sun Hill briefly in 1995 to help DCI Jack Meadows with an ongoing drugs operation.
