[edit] Variants
HK-13E "Export": An update of the HK13 that had a longer receiver, drum-type rear sights, and was capable of selective fire (3-round bursts). It also used a more-reliable 20-round box magazine and could take the 30-round magazine of the Heckler & Koch G41
GR-6: A "sanitized" version of the HK13 used by NATO special operations forces. It differs in that it has an adjustable-power self-illuminated optical sight permanently fixed to the receiver in the place of iron sights. It can also accept a clip-on beam projector on the receiver that can only be seen by an operator wearing night-vision goggles.
