Heidi Alice Voight (born June 24, 1982) is Miss Connecticut 2006.
Voight is a native of Milford who now resides in New Haven, Connecticut. She was crowned on her fourth attempt at the crown on June 24, 2006, which coincidentally was also her 24th birthday. Her issue of concern as Miss Connecticut 2006 is "Educate, Empower, Eradicate: Stop The Violence", which concerns violence against women and children and "seeks to identify and address the causes of sexual violence in our culture."
Voight is a five-time Kennedy Center Irene Ryan Acting Award nominee, a Eugene O'Neill Critic Fellow, a two-time KC-ACTF National Critics Institute Regional winner and national winner. She is also a state-certified rape crisis counselor, victim advocate, Community Educator and Prevention Speakers Bureau member, and was the front woman for Ankora, an all-girl rock band since the age of 14.
She is the first in her family to attend college, a notable accomplishment that she credits the Miss America Organization with helping her achieve.
She will compete in the Miss America 2007 pageant on January 29, 2007. The Miss America pageant will be broadcast live on CMT.
