High Feather

High Feather was a television show which ran on public service broadcasting stations in the 1980s.
High Feather was a 13 part series produced by the New York State Education Department in 1980. The show followed eight teenagers through a summer at the High Feather Camp, where they learned the values of honesty, good nutrition, physical fitness, as well as just getting along.
The 30 minute episodes featured teenagers living with diabetes and anorexia nervosa. Episodes included "Ballerina," where the character of Leslie starves herself to the point of exhaustion to achieve a dancer's body, and "Swim Test," where the character of Tom was afraid to go shirtless in the lake because of his obesity.
