Guidelines for editing articles in the series

Use a standard format for each daughter article.
All text should be in British English.
Use metric units wherever possible (Add Imperial and other units in brackets).
Include the series information box at the top to link the article to the series.
Add the subject of the article to the list in the series information box to aid navigation.
Update the main article at Historical regions of Pakistan by adding relevant text and images to the correct section.
Add the article to the correct category - Category:Historical regions of Pakistan.
Limit external links to ones that are relevant to Historical regions of Pakistan. Add other links to relevant articles.
The sections of the main article are a summary of more detailed articles. Add missing points to relevant daughter articles rather than the main article.

The article is intended as a main page for the series on Historical regions of Pakistan with the aim of developing articles about former states, provinces and territories of Pakistan.

Created a skeleton structure for the main article
Created category to group articles - Category:Historical regions of Pakistan
Created a combined information and navigation box at Template:Historic Pakistan
Uploaded maps for all provinces and most states.

- Create a standard layout for daughter articles
- Locate and upload relevant images such as the state flags or emblems
- Fill in gaps such as tables of regional leaders and their terms of office
- More information needed on the smaller states such as Nagar and Phulra.

The layout of the article should be as follows:

The information and navigation box - Template:Historic Pakistan - should be at the top with the following values:
- region_name= | - The name of the region
- region_flag= | - The flag or emblem of the region (if there is none available, use the Pakistan flag at Image:Flag of Pakistan.svg)
- region_map= | - The map of the region relative to the rest of Pakistan
- capital= | - The capital or major town/city if relevant (otherwise use Not applicable)
- area= | - The area of the region in km²
- official_languages= | - The main languages of the region
- established_date= | - The date the region came into existence (if the date is hazy use the relevant century)
- abolished_date= | - The date of dissolution of the region
- footnotes = | Any relevant notes e.g. references or official websites

Introductory paragraph - minimal detail
Main sections:
- History
- Geography
- Demographics - only include last census if available - mention the groups or tribes or nations in the area
- Important locations
- Government - describe how the region was administered, by whom and between which dates. If possible include in a wikitable
- Miscellaneous - any miscellaneous information
- See also - wiki-articles related to the subject matter
- External Links - relevant official government links and verifiable data sources only - no commercial links
- References - any particular data used from another source
