Talk:History of Auckland

[edit] Māori name
Tāmaki Makau Rau ('Isthmus of one thousand lovers', also translated as 'Tamaki-the bride sought by a hundred suitors')[1], now known as Auckland...
Can anybody resolve the above contradiction - differing translations might exist, but surely 'thousand' and 'hundred' would have different words? MadMaxDog 01:58, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
