[edit] Hamlet
I read once that members the Gonzaga family were the inspiration for the play-within-a-play in Shakespeare's Hamlet, but I can't find the reference now.. does anyone else know?
- In Act 3, scene 2, they act out a play called The Murder of Gonzago (or The Mousetrap); "This play is the image of a murder done in Vienna: Gonzago is the duke's name". / Havard 15:20, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
