Hugh Harris (born c. 1987) is the lead guitarist for popular British indie band, The Kooks. He is about 20 years old and comes from Brighton. His guitar of choice is a Gibson ES 335. He changes amps around a lot but mostly uses Fender, Vox and Hiwatt valve amps. He also provides backing vocals for The Kooks. During the late nineties and early millennia he was lead guitarist in the funk outfit known as Soul Solid. Prior to this he played guitar with Three Hoods And A Ginger (of which he was the Ginger, later discredited for unknown reasons), a young Lewes based band, and spent a short period blazing a funkadelic jazz trail with People Like Funk, another Lewesian outfit. Hugh met what was to be the Kooks, at Brighton Institute of modern music where he was studying. There was only two shuffles in the band's lineup, with a change of bassist and a 2nd guitarist being fired for drinking before a gig in Brighton.
