Hurst Street

Hurst Street is a street located in the Chinese Quarter of Birmingham, England.
Hurst Street is the location of the Birmingham Hippodrome, a theatre specialising in ballet, opera, and musicals. It is the home of the Birmingham Royal Ballet. Adjacent to the Hippodrome are the restored Inge Street back-to-back houses - high density houses built in the 1820s. These are now open as a museum.

The gay scene of Birmingham is mainly centred on and around Hurst Street. It does not equal the importance of Old Compton Street or Canal Street however the number of bars and clubs on the street is significant.
At the end of May and the beginning of June, Hurst Street is host to the Birmingham Pride Festival when the gay population of the Midlands descends on the area.
