"I Wanna Be Your Dog" is a song by The Stooges, featured on their self-titled debut album. It's main riff, which goes on through the whole song, is very memorable, being composed of only three notes (G,F#,E). The song is 3:09 minutes long, and is a good example of Iggy Pop being the "Godfather of Punk". Frequently covered by other acts, including a memorable 1988 Chicago live performance by Sonic Youth and an album version courtesy of Uncle Tupelo. The song is rumored to be about a repeat rape. It is said that the headman of the band Iggy Pop had an experience where he witnessed a prostitute being repeatedly sexually assulted. it is not quite sure how exactly he reacted to this, but the song which is based on that incident is one that portrays a very dark and depressing scene. The song features in Guy Ritchie's hit film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Also featured in the movie Friday Night Lights and in the TV show How I Met Your Mother (Episode 2.16: Stuff)
