ILCP

The International League of Conservation Photographers (ILCP), an inititative of the WILD Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Boulder, Colorado, is a consortium of professional photographers,editors, scientists, publishers, conservationists and writers state as their mission, to further environmental and cultural conservation through the use of etchical photography.
The ILCP was created in October of 2005 at the 8th World Wilderness Congress, which took place in Anchorage, Alaska. The group was created to recognize the importance of high quality images to inspire conservation actions around the world.
The ILCP has members from over 15 countries and its members are selected based on their photographic skills, their ethical standards in the captioning of images, and most importantly, on the sustained commitment to conservation efforts.

Since its creation, the ILCP has co-produced two coffee-table books on international conservation strategies. Transboundary Conservation, published in 2005 with Conservation International is an analysis of protected areas around the world that stride two or more countries.
The Human Footprint was co-porduced with the Wildlife Conservation Society rom New York and is illustrated exclusively with aerial photography.
[edit] Exhibits
The organization has produced two international photograpy exhbitions that showcased the importance of biodiversity and ecosystem services. The Convention on Biological Diversity hosted an exhibit by the group at their 8th Conference of the Parties held the city of Curitiba in 2006.
The other exhibit was shown at the Pingyao International Photography Festival in the city of Pingyao, China, also in 2006.
