[edit] Synopsis
Grace has become obsessed with her imaginary friend, "Imogene", causing Maxwell to become concerned. Fran is not worried at all and suggests that Grace cuts down on her therapy and has more fun. Later, Fran, Maxwell, Grace and "Imogene" are in the kitchen baking and eating cookies when Grace exclaims that Fran had eaten "Imogene", who was sitting on the cookie that she had just eaten. Fran (humorously) attempts to revive "Imogene", but it is too late. The family holds a funeral for "Imogene", who is burried in the back yard in a shoe box containing Fran's expensive new shoes, which Grace claims were "Imogene's" favourites. Later, Grace's therapist tells Fran and Maxwell that Grace eliminated her imaginary friend because "Imogene" was only filling a void left by her deceased mother, Sarah, and that void had now been filled by Fran.
[edit] A turning point
In the Season 1 DVD's "making of" special feature, Fran Drescher is quoted as describing Imaginary Friend as a turning point for the show. This episode was the first of the show which featured physical comedy (when Fran eats and then attempts to revive Imogene, featured in the above photograph), which was then incorporated into many later episodes because of the positive reaction from both the audience and the network.
[edit] Guest cast

[edit] Notes
