Insular Indo-Aryan

The Insular Indo-Aryan languages (also known as Sinhalese-Maldivian) include three languages and dialects spoken on the islands of Sri Lanka and the Maldives; this language group is a part of the Indo-Aryan language family. The Indo-Aryan branch is the largest part of the Indo-Iranian language family.
The Insular Indo-Aryan languages share several characteristics which set them apart significantly from their continental sister languages.
