Irecord
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
iRecord is a device for recording data and transferring to/from any device.
iRecord is a product of Streaming Networks, and is based on the idea that instead of relying on a computer to transform data to digital form and then move it to portable devices, a more logical approach is to capture the data in analog form and then directly transfer it to a portable storage device, such as a flash memory card or USB stick. This would free the user from dependence on a particular software application; for instance, a user wishing to move video data from an iPod to a Personal Video Recorder (PVR) would no longer have to rely on Apple Computer's iTunes. Another potential application is the capturing of video directly from analog cable via an S-Video or composite connection. iRecord's primary advantages over its recently-arrived competitors are its video and audio quality, which include support for the H.264 and MPEG-4 standards.
