The ITV Lunchtime News is ITV1's afternoon news programme, which is broadcast weekdays from 1.30pm until 2.00pm.
Its main presenters are Alastair Stewart and Katie Derham. The programme features twenty minutes of national (UK) and international news, followed by five minutes from the ITV regions at 1.50pm.
Originally a thirty minute programme since its launch in 1988, it was extended to one hour in April 2005, to coincide with ITV1's new daytime line-up. ITV's daytime controller, Alison Sharman is revamping the schedule, and the Lunchtime News has moved back by an hour, and was cut down to 30 minutes from September 4, 2006.
