Jake Mathews
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jake Mathews is a singer, songwriter and performer with a traditional sound. He is described as a consummate performer, open to his fans for chats, photographs and autographs.
Mathews was born Jake Lagrandeur, in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.
His self-titled debut CD garnered six nationally charted hits: I’ll Do You One Better, Try Again Tomorrow, That’s How Long, Rush, I’m Gone, and There Ain’t No Such Thing – an incredible achievement for a fledgling independent artist.
His sophomore CD, Time After Time, released in 2004, was voted Best Album by Country Music News. Quote: “and the end result is an album that should now place Jake Mathews among the top country male artists in the world of Cancountry.” July 2004
Singles released from Time After Time included the self-titled cut, Signs of You Everywhere, King’s For A Day and Arizona on My Mind – a small sampling of the range of Jake’s talent.
Although he is the younger brother of Gil Grand, he has established a music career in his own right. In 2006, Jake and Gil joined forces to “Raise the Roof.” A tour that took them from B.C. to Ontario, raising awareness of Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Incredibly talented singers and performers in their own right, they complemented each other perfectly when they teamed up. Their rendition of “Brotherly Love” is unforgettable and “Silver Wings” was truly beautiful. Perhaps they could be convinced to do a duet album?

Western Country Music Awards 2005 - Nominated “Outstanding Country Recording” for Time After Time 2003 - Nominated “Outstanding Country Recording” for Jake Mathews
