- By itself, the medal isn't particularly notable, but there were two Navy ships named after him. Seems sufficient to me. The main problem with the article is that it's so small—not even his birthdate.

Is this the same James Shelton who wrote Lilac Wine? That doesn't seem to be the case. Toscaesque 19:46, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
