Javier Martínez Aguinaga, (born September 2, 1988 in Navarra, Spain), is a central midfield player who currently plays for Athletic Bilbao in La Liga. Bilbao signed him as a raw 17 year old for €6 million in the summer of 2006 from Osasuna [1], despite him never having played a first team game. Despite this, he became a regular in the side that season with his powerful displays, with his highlight being scoring twice against Deportivo de La Coruña.
