Jean-François Bergeron

Jean-François Bergeron (born July 26, 1973 in St-Jérôme, Quebec) is a boxer from Canada, competing in the super heavyweight (> 91kg) division. He represented his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.

Southpaw Bergeron won the silver medal at the 1995 Pan American Games. He competed in Atlanta at the Olympics but was KO'd by Attila Levin.

He turned pro immediately and hasn't lost in 10 years. He has only fought limited opposition though and showed negligible power. Since 2006 he is ranked at the WBA. 2001 he beat undefeated but light-hitting American amateur champ Willie Banks 2003 he beat Darroll Wilson (who holds a KO over Shannon Briggs) but couldn't KO the chinny opponent. 2006 he bested Steve Panell (who had knocked down Wladimir Klitschko in his build-up and had KO'd stablemate Patrice L'Heureux). He is ranked around #50 in the independent computer ratings.
