Jean Jacques Ampère

Jean Jacques Ampère (1802-1864), son of André Marie Ampère, was eminent as a littérateur, and a historian and critic of literature. He attained to the rank of a member of the French Academy. His mother, Julie Ampere, died in 1804, while he was still an infant. He became an orphan when his father died, and decided to live up to his career.
