Jennifer "Jenn" Lynette Sterger (born November 29, 1983 in Miami, Florida) is a Florida State University student and online columnist for Sports Illustrated. Sterger rose to fame after she was shown on national television during the 2005 Florida State–Miami football game. On seeing the shot, announcer Brent Musburger commented that "15,000 young red-blooded American men just signed up to go to Florida State next semester." She is one of the FSU Cowgirls who are known for their sartorial combinations of minimalist tops, short shorts, and cowboy hats. Due to the key role that Facebook played in her success, Sterger has been nicknamed the "Facebook Princess". She has since posed in both Maxim and Playboy magazines.
[edit] Background
Sterger is from Lutz, Florida in northern Hillsborough County, Florida and graduated from Gaither High School. She attended the University of South Florida but transferred in 2004 to Florida State University where she majored in psychology as well as criminology. She is of Czech and Yugoslav descent.
Sterger's brief two-second shot on national television turned her into a phenomenon. After she and two friends, Danae Sims and Fabiola Romero, were featured in a bleacher shot of a Miami-Florida State University football game on 5 September 2005, announcer Brent Musburger commented that “15,000 young red-blooded American men just signed up to go to Florida State next semester.”
Some of those young men found her in bikini photos on the social network site Facebook, sent the link to friends, and Sterger was soon the online embodiment of the sexy co-ed. Sterger has embraced her fame as she has appeared in Maxim (March 2006) and has appeared topless in Playboy (May 2006). When asked if she would ever pose fully nude, Jenn's reply "Would I do full nude?.. I dunno. It's definitely not a priority right now.. but.. never say never. Bob Barker says it best when he says... If the price is right!...". After contributing two articles to Sports Illustrated [1] [2] , she now has a regular Wednesday feature on SI.com's Scorecard Daily.
