- Jens is a male name and a Danish and Frisian derivative of Johannes. The name is very common in Denmark (per January 1st 2006 55.255 Danish boys and men were named Jens[1] which makes it the most used name in Denmark) and has gained a modest degree of popularity in Norway, Germany and Iceland.
