Jerry Busher
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jerry Busher is a rock drummer who has contributed to such records as Fugazi's 2001 album The Argument and John Frusciante's solo work, on the album DC EP. Both projects involved Ian MacKaye, a member of Fugazi and the founder/owner of Dischord Records. Jerry Busher played additional percussion (i.e. he doubled the parts played by Fugazi's drummer Brendan Canty on the album) for "The Argument". John Frusciante, of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame, met Busher while doing a series of shows in Los Angeles along with musician/collaborator Josh Klingshoffer at the Knitting Factory. Frusciante asked Busher to play drums for his "DC EP", a four-song record tracked at Ian MacKaye's Inner Ear studios in Washington, DC. MacKaye produced the session and lent Frusciante his red Marshall amplifier to track the guitars and his Gibson Les Paul Junior guitar for the guitar solo during the opening song "Dissolve".
