JetIdeas
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
JetIdeas is the web 2.0 startup, founded by Alex Getman, Sergey Korolev, Andrii Kovalchuk, Sergey Skochko and Andriy Zhornick. The distinctive characteristic of this startup is that authors do not initially limit themselves to one idea, rather working on several prototypes simultaneously, to select the most promising one among them.
Among the most prominent projects, the JetIdeas team is currently working at, are the Multilingual Instance Messenger, helping people, speaking different languages to communicate and social oriented Sport Portal, which helps amateur sportsmen finding each other to play together.
While the most startups are based in U.S.[1], JetIdeas is founded in Ukraine. Although the Ukraine takes a sound position at outsourcing IT market[2], there are no known Ukrainian web 2.0 startups currently[3]. So, JetIdeas is sometimes called by it's founders "the first Ukrainian web 2.0 startup".
JetIdeas is a self-fundable startup, which is primarily financed by money, received from offshore development and Ukrainian customer-oriented projects. Such self-funding is partially caused by the week representation of business angels and venture funding firms in Ukraine[4].
