Hmm, discussions. How can I attract people to talk with me about what I have to say? How about I start posting some of my knowledge, and then post a discussion topic about each one. Sounds good to me.
My first page, wiki:user or whatever it is, says: I am impressed with the diversity of the tools that everyone has at their disposal. Obviously, whoever was involved in the creation of this community, is familiar with the term Noob, or Noobie, and designed this community not with that person in mind at all. Why do I come to this conclusion? Because as someone who knows the psyche of a noob, I know that few noobs actually take time to learn even what the buttons do. You see, these buttons are here for poeple who will use them, not for people who will not use them.
So I say, to all of you who read whatever I edit or whatever I respond to, that I want to learn from you, I want to help you learn from me, and I want to discuss it in a manner that is polite and constructive............may we do this with regards to the people who set up this community. They obviously believe in the same principals of governance since they obviously know the definition of "trust system"
I will be posting shortly(timespan varies from topic to topic up to a year for first pages on some) topics relating to--:-- Canadian(as the population to gather public data from) demographics and statistics re: moral/poverty/activity relationships. I hope to come to a conclusion that I have hypothesized and then, with the help of you all, design a more acceptable way to include all walks of life in societies complex workings. --:--Psychological effect of environmental inflictions upon an individual and its various result returning pathways. --:--Easy to remember ways of remembering things you've learned.(a topic I update in my head on a regular basis, and have many thesis'/hypothesis upon which I will draw upon)

I posted my first discussion on someone elses talk page tonight. Its getting late and I really don't have the time to look at this stuff thoroughly. TBH - I am a comfortable(very) computer user, but I have not paid any attention to highschool teachers who tried to teach me HTML or BASIC nearly 10 years ago, and as such, I claimed to be a noob when I posted on Alf's discussion page. Here's the excerpt:
I am a noob im many regards to the internet...I wish you congrats, gg, and so forth. I will now attempt my first timestamp and whatnot to finish this post, in an edit page that has a lot more characters than I am comfortable seeing. Okay now here's where I need help, why when I edited and saw all the discussion , was there a poopload of crazy html type typing? Obviously so we can put in nifty stuff right? So how much do I need to put in when I want to type a signature type ending to my post? I have dreams of designing an extensive website over the next few years... it seems wikipedia just might need an extensive How To: HTML FOR DUMMIES type tutorial, of course that is, if it doesn't already have one. Well, gg alf, I hope you find your way over to my neck of the woods here in Canada. [edit] Signatures
Signatures, well a lot of people do a lot of different things, if you look at the very top of the page you'll see "my preferences", just to the right of "Jetstream" and "my talk", click "my preferences", check the raw signature box and enter something like
- [[User:Jetstream|Jetstream]] <sup><font color="red">[[User_talk:Jetstream|Contrail]]</font></sup>
- into the nickanme space, that will produce the following;
- Jetstream Contrail
(the talk page link won't be live as we're already on the page, double square brackets link pages and if | is used will display whatever text is on the right, the sup is small+up, font speaks for itself, the commands with slashes are the cancels for the commands). Then when you sign with ~~~~ it will produce that signature, hope this helps. --Alf melmac 11:00, 10 February 2006 (UTC)
