Jiefang CA-30
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Jiefang CA-30 is a military truck used widely by the Chinese People's Liberation Army. It is a direct copy of the Russian ZIL-157 6x6 army truck, & looks mostly identical to the ZIL-157, except that it has square fenders rather than round fenders as on the ZIL-157.

[edit] History
Throughout the 1950's, the Soviet Army helped China to build up her heavy industries. As part of this plan, China established the First Automobile Works (FAW) in Changchun [1]. Soon after, in July 1956 they introduced the Jiefang CA-10 4x2 army truck, a copy of the ZIS-150. A couple of years later, they introduced the Jiefang CA-30 6x6 army truck. The CA-30, like the ZIL-157, had great cross-country capabilities; & was available in a variety of configurations, including: Cargo/transport, tractor-trailer, shelter, etc... Both the CA-30 & CA-10 were used extensively by the Chinese People's Liberation Army up until the 1990's, when they were largely phased out of service. Today, only a few of them remain in service.
