[edit] Barack Obama

Why did you remove my addition to Barack Obama's article citing his opposition to the Born Alive Act and the accusation made against him by the former nurse, Jill Stanek? You cited "poor source." The "poor source" was written by a first-person witness who had the terrible misfortune to find the victim of a botched abortion attempt when she worked at a hospital. Please be more careful in what you delete next time.Pic82101 12:07, 3 April 2007 EST

[edit] Jimmy Carter deletion

You removed my edit regarding the Peace not Arpathied book. Could you let me know why? The source was backed up and is germane to the subject.Giza D 22:43, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

Absolutely. In my edit summary I mentioned that the debate with dershowitz is not "directly" related to the book. I think that mentioning it in with the book summary is giving it undue weight. If you follow the link to the book page, which is a very extensive summary of the book and events, you will find it featured there. Please let me know if you disagree. Jiffypopmetaltop 00:48, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

As Jimmy Carter's book has been criticized by many experts. And Dershowitz is a recognized Israeli expert, I think it important to mention the criticsm. As I have backed it up, do you have any objection to it be put back in?

Yes I do. The summary should mention general criticism (which it does) and the book page should have particulars. You put in one criticism then all should go in. Once that is done all the praise should go in. Then the book should be outlined in great detail so readers can understand the criticism in context. That would take be the actual book page. Jiffypopmetaltop 01:28, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

Since we disagree how about going onto the Carter discussion page and see what others think.Giza D 01:48, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Al Gore misconceptions

I deeply apologize for my seemingly misguided efforts, and I am hoping that you are following your word on your statement;

In my opinion, people should not have criticism articles. Huge pov fork.Jiffypopmetaltop

Looking at another "easy" political target, have you seen (or commented) on the Criticism of George W. Bush page? It includes a "Intellectual capacity" page section. If that is also not a huge pov fork, nothing is, however I do not see as much outrage as the Al Gore misconceptions page. Thank you--The great grape ape is straight out of the know 03:00, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Hope that I am following my "word". Don't ever come at me talking about my "word". I didn't start the bullshit page, you did. Do I support the GWB criticism page, no. Neither do you. So why start a new bullshit page. So you know what a huge pov fork is and you decide to start another one and somehow that is my fault? Jiffypopmetaltop 03:05, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Please stop

Your edits to Talk:Al Gore are deliberately attempting to antagonize User:Jayzel68. You have labeled comments of his as incivil and as attacks that are neither. You have repeatedly edited his comments. Please stop.

In case you're wondering, I'm an impartial administrator. Nobody has asked me to intervene, and I have had no prior contact with anyone involved in the silly edit war going on on the Al Gore talk page. However, consider this a warning to stop with the harassment. —Doug Bell talk 00:19, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I believe you have misinterpreted the situation and would ask you to look through the history of edits more closely. I have been nothing but civil with this editor. We have a past history and I will not take abuse from this editor. [[1]] Jiffypopmetaltop 00:25, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I looked through the entire history at Talk:Al Gore and at the recent contribution histories for both of you. Whatever the past disagreements between you, the "abuse" displayed in the editing at Talk:Al Gore#NPOV tag lies clearly at your feet. You edited Jayzel's first comment where he discussed his addition of the NPOV tag to the article, which was not directed at anyone in particular. You then repeatedly removed and edited his comments while reprimanding him for civility. I see no particular incivility, and you are the one that initiated the personal exchange. In fact, I would commend Jayzel for remaining civil despite your rather transparent attempts to antagonize him.

Please stop. —Doug Bell talk 00:33, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I feel like I am in topsy turvy world. Have you seen this? [[2]]Jiffypopmetaltop 00:36, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
Anyway, I think that you are utterly wrong and have completely misread the situation, but I have cut off contact anyway. I will do my best not to interact with this editor just as it was in the past.Jiffypopmetaltop 00:40, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

(edit conflict) Yes, I did see that, and I intend to ask Jayzel not to do that. However, that was following your repeated editing of his comments. A statement such as "it's like talking to a fun house mirror" in response to your repeated editing and mislabeling of his comments is not a comment that requires your censorship.

I have no side in your dispute, but the behaviour on that talk page was primarily instigated by you. I'm just asking you to please stop. —Doug Bell talk 00:44, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

I still think that you are quite wrong and that the talk page behaviour was not instigated by me. However, that is no longer a point that needs to be argued as I have already agreed to cease all activity with this editor. You and I have a difference of opinion but I do respect yours and will abide by what I have promised here. Jiffypopmetaltop 00:48, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

OK. Thank you. I've asked Jayzel not to edit your remarks (or signature in this case) as well. —Doug Bell talk 00:52, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Wow. What a terrible read of the situation. This is the same admin who later unblocked Jayzel without discussion while he was cussing out admins. Friend 'o devonshire. Actually, I dropped by to vent about NYScholar's abrasive attitude, which I think has prevented a generally agreeable resolution. Obviously, you and this guy Andy have a past. But, I think he can probably be reasoned with, except that Scholar keeps going the extra mile to piss him off. The rest of the pov-ers are light-weights. I wonder if you invited Andy off to a side chat without a bunch of interference if you guys could come up with a reasonable compromise. I'd be almost surely be supportive of whatever you came up with. Just a suggestion. Derex 07:09, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes, thank you for your analysis of my interpretation. I might have included you in my comment for your late, and decidely unhelpful, addition to the above referenced thread. I will also note that my unblock of Jayzel was reviewed at AN/I and not a single administrator disagreed with the unblock, only with my lapse in discussing it. —Doug Bell talk 07:27, 2 March 2007 (UTC)
Derex does indeed have the correct interpretation. Anyway, I have no past history with Andy (as far as I know)but I don't really care enough to spend the time on a compromise. I am just waiting to see where this all ends up. I will think about it though. Jiffypopmetaltop 17:15, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Problem with my edits?

Are they not accurate and factual? Isn't that why we are supposed to be here? Sir Osis of Livre 04:34, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

What does that mean? Jiffypopmetaltop 04:47, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

You obviously dislike my edits - even though they are accurate and factual. Isn't this the reason for your assault? Sir Osis of Livre 04:57, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Assault? Did I do something illegal? Jiffypopmetaltop 06:12, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Al Gore Question

Jiffypopmetaltop,

I'm relatively new to Wikipedia...just wondering why you object to the addition of the word "tobacco" to the following sentence on the Al Gore page:

"During the school year, he lived in a hotel in Washington; during summer vacations, he worked on the Gore family tobacco farm in Carthage."

It is more descriptive. What does "(rvt. as per wp:bio)" mean?

Sincerely,

Dbrashj

Well, it is a wikipedia policy pertaining to unsourced information in biography articles. I believe there is a link to the policy page on the talk page of the article. Anyways, as far as I know there is no Gore family tobacco farm, but a Gore family farm where tobacco is grown (among other agricultural products). Calling it a tobacco form is misleading.Jiffypopmetaltop 21:42, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your suggestion

I suggest that Shakam takes the first crack at it. Seconded!! --HailFire 14:00, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

Ha. Shakam or you. Either way, nobody knows more about the issue. Jiffypopmetaltop 17:06, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Al Sharpton

After looking at the history, I believe you have violated 3RR. Self-reverting would probably be a good idea here. IronDuke 01:02, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Look again. Jiffypopmetaltop 02:08, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Hi

Glad to see you're still around. Cheers. · j e r s y k o talk · 02:27, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi. You have been blocked from editinf for 12 hours due to a 3RR violation. Please be more careful in the future. Many thanks in advance. El_C 01:21, 5 April 2007 (UTC)
