[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Martin McCaughey
Re. your comment on the first time user: I have marked this as the first edit and admins are well used to this kind of participant, usually discounting it, so you have no need to worry. The AfD is not a vote — it's a debate, and the admin has leeway to weigh up arguments on both sides when making a decision, which sometimes goes against the simple "majority". In the light of this, you might want to reconsider the comment. Tyrenius 00:40, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

The ODNB is in aphabetical order. Giving a page number and volume does not really help in finding the information. It is re-published regularly as new people are inserted, so the date doesn't help much either. However next time I'm in the local library I will also note this info. JMcC 16:54, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Care to explain on the talk page why you added a POV template? --Gwern (contribs) 16:52 31 March 2007 (GMT)
- Obviously you felt it was appropriate. I was asking for reasons though, since as the person who wrote it, I didn't think it was POV but a reasonable capsule summary of his most famous and notable research (what got him a front-page article in the New York Times, for example). --Gwern (contribs) 17:16 31 March 2007 (GMT)

- If you're now convinced it's kosher, then I'd appreciate it if you'd remove the tag. --Gwern (contribs) 17:53 31 March 2007 (GMT)

[edit] Re vandal accusation
I have referred the matter to an administrator for advice. If I might suggest, you should place your notices on the appropriate discussion page, it allows other Users to review the information provided. Just trying to be helpful, and hope you will assume good faith. I will not revert until I hear from an administrator, and will move all related discussions to the appropriate page. [edit] Sockpuppet
Are you a sockpuppet of another editor or do you edit under other names?--Vintagekits 12:53, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- So are you or arnt you?--Vintagekits 13:19, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
- It's ok, I'll just wait until you're blocked under WP:SOCK before reverting your edit. One Night In Hackney303 14:48, 2 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Blocked
Your abuse of sockpuppets has been confirmed by checkuser. I've blocked this account as puppetmaster for 48 hours as you've edited using it most recently, and the puppets indefinitely. If you would prefer to keep one of the other accounts, let me know, and I'll set the 48 hour block on it and this one to indefinite. Please also carefully read WP:SOCK, using sockpuppets to create an illusion of consensus, at AfD or otherwise, is not acceptable. Seraphimblade Talk to me 22:23, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey there. I like your work on this article. I would like to point out to you though, that if most of the text was based on what is previously published here, then your Links section should probably be called References. Of course, if the article you have created is based on other information, then the biography should be in a section called External links.
I'm not sure which of these is correct so I'll leave it to you to adjust, when your block has expired.Garrie 00:48, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Your AMA Request for Assistance
I would be willing to take this case, if you will accept me as an advocate. As I see that you're currently on temporary block, reply here (on your talkpage) if you want me to take the case. Walton Vivat Regina! 16:43, 3 April 2007 (UTC)

- I believe that this user is including me is this accusation and I have found this editor User:Jill Teed to be very abrupt, and argumentative. I only recently discovered that this was the same User, who exhibited hostility and bad faith on the Daniel O’Connell Article, towards me. Since I now consider myself to be in the same “cadre,” of editors referred to, I felt it necessary to make my feelings known. I will not accept this type of calumny, from anyone. I simply wish to contribute to Wikipedia and be as polite and courteous to my fellow Editors. Who should I mention this to in order to have it resolved? Regards --Domer48 22:29, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
