Jim Brandenburg

James "Jim" Brandenburg is a renowned nature photographer based near Ely, Minnesota. His work has been featured in National Geographic, Life, Newsweek, Time, Smithsonian, GEO and other media. He has won many awards for his work, including Magazine Photographer of the Year twice by the National Press Photographer's Association, Wildlife Photographer of the Year by the British Museum of Natural History and the BBC and the World Achievement Award from the United Nations Environment Programme. In 1981, he photographed and designed a set of ten wildlife stamps for the United States Postal Service. He is perhaps best-known for his pictures of wolves. He has published several books featuring his photographs of and observations on the species, including Brother Wolf: A Forgotten Promise, and White Wolf, which was also made into a National Geographic/BBC Television documentary.
