John Campbell, 2nd Earl Cawdor

John Frederick Vaughan Campbell, 2nd Earl Cawdor was born on 11 June 1817 and died on 29 March 1898. He was the son of John Frederick Campbell, 1st Earl Cawdor and Lady Elizabeth Thynne. He married Sarah Mary Compton-Cavendish, daughter of General Hon. Henry Frederick Compton-Cavendish and Sarah Fawkener, on 28 June 1842. They had six children:
- Lady Rachel Anne Georgina Campbell (d. 6 October 1906)
- Victoria Alexandrina Elizabeth Campbell (d. 30 March 1909)
- Muriel Sarah Campbell (d. 30 September 1934)
- Frederick Archibald Vaughan Campbell, 3rd Earl Cawdor (1847-1911)
- Captain Hon. Ronald George Elidor Campbell (1848-1879)
- Alexander Francis Henry Campbell (1855-1929)
