John F Hall

John F Hall is a Professor of Classical Languages and Ancient History at Brigham Young University. He has made several substantial contributions to the study of Roman history, notable among these being his discovery that the Roman poet Virgil had Etruscan ancestry. He is the author of a seminal work on the Etruscan origins of Rome known as Etruscan Italy.
Hall currently possesses the Eliza R. Snow chair, and is actively engaged in a university effort to retranslate the New Testament from the original Greek, with this translation being accompanied by copious amounts of historical and religious commentary.
