John Lavas

John Lavas is the author of Dragons from the Dunes and Lost World of Arthur Conan Doyle, The. He is also a co-author of, or contributor to, a number of other books, papers, and articles in the field of Paleontology, including Complete Dinosaur, The.
His books are mostly self-illustrated, usually in the pointilist style. An afficionado of mostly classic eastern European automobiles, his model dioramas are highly regarded by collectors.
John was was born in Auckland, New Zealand, where he currently resides. His parents are of Croation descent. John earned a BSc in Biology from the University of Auckland.
