John O'Mahony (Mayo)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John O'Mahony is a Fine Gael candidate in the Mayo constituency for the 2007 General Election. A native of Ballaghderreen, O'Mahony has achieved much prominence in the sporting arena, having managed the Galway senior footballers to All-Ireland titles in 1998 and 2001, as well as guiding his native Mayo to the decider in 1989. Arguably his most impressive achievement was presiding over Leitim's first Connacht senior title for 67 years, when they triumphed in 1994. He was appointed Mayo manager for a second time in late 2006.
