John T. Scalish

John T. Scalish (1912-May 26, 1976) was an American organized crime figure and, in 1944, succeeding Al Polizzi as head of the Cleveland crime family which he controlled until his death in 1976. He was also one of sixty-seven mobsters in attendance at the Apalachin Conference in 1957. After his death in 1976, one of the largest gang wars broke out between James Licavoli and John Nardi.
