Jorge Alberti

Jorge Alberto Martinez, artistically known as Jorge Alberti, born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, is a rising actor who has starred in many telenovelas that are popular throughout Latin America. From his earliest years, he had a strong inclination to sports and most especially the arts, where he expressed himself in music and theater. He spent his primary years in Puerto Rico, where he excelled as a student and athlete.
In 1995, Jorge moved to Florida and enrolled at the Computer Animation at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. After nearly four years of residing in the United States, he decided to move back to Puerto Rico in 1999, where he earned an undergraduate degree in graphic design at Sagrado Corazón University. As an occasional occupation, Alberti worked as a model for various local periodicals and on the popular local show "No Te Duermas" that airs on the Telemundo/NBC Puerto Rico television network.
In 1999, Jorge began to take acting classes with Puerto Rican actor Teófilo Torres. An opportunity knocked when he got the chance to appear in different theatrical productions, acting in "Diálogo de Carmelitas" and "Amor al Prójimo" at Centro de Bellas Artes Luis A. Ferre in San Juan. In 2002, he relocated to Mexico and participated in "Intermodel 2002 Acting and Modeling Competition", winning two gold medals as an actor and model. After wards, he focused his career entirely on acting and was able to land a role on a Mexican telenovela.
Alberti's participation on the reality show, "La Isla de la Tentación" ("Temptation Island") was very well received by many and with his success on this show, he has been able to branch off into otheprojects. He has made special guest appearances on such telenovelas as "Gata Salvaje" ("Wildcat") and "Angel Rebelde" ("Rebel Angel") and on such series as "Al Filo de la Ley" which airs on the Univisión network and "America's Most Wanted" which airs on the FOX network. He has prominent roles on "Amor Descarado" and "Anita No Te Rajes" and has participated as a castmember on "Passions" as the character Roberto one of the first Spanish-language serials produced entirely in the United States.
Presently residing in Puerto Rico, Alberti is now a cast member on "Dueña y Señora," a new telenovela that is prodcued and air on the island's Telemundo network station. In reflecting with a change of social norms, he plays the role of a homosexual, which for many still is considered controversial in many conservative Latin American nations. The program has been picked up for international syndication by Venevision, Venezuela's leading television production company and airs in that country and several other countries in Latin America.
