Joseph Gelineau

Joseph Gelineau (born 31 October 1920, Champ-sur-Layon, Maine-et-Loire) is a French Catholic Jesuit priest and composer, mainly of modern Christian liturgical music.
Having entered the Society of Jesus in 1941, Gelineau studied theology at a Catholic seminary in Lyon and music in Paris.
Heavily influenced by Gregorian chant, Gelineau has composed numerous chants for the ecumenical French Taizé Community. He is associated with the Institut Catholique in Paris.
