[edit] A welcome from Master of Puppets
Hello, Joshua Boniface, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We're glad to have you in our community! Here are a few good links for newcomers:
- If you haven't already, drop by the New user log and tell others a bit about yourself.
- Always sign your posts on talk pages! That way, others will know who left which comments.
- The Five Pillars of Wikipedia
- Simplified Ruleset
- How to edit a page
- Editing, policy, conduct, and structure tutorial
- Picture tutorial
- How to write a great article
- Naming conventions
- Manual of Style
- Wikipedia Glossary
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Though we all make goofy mistakes, here is what Wikipedia is not. If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to see the help pages or add a question to the village pump. The Community Portal can also be very useful.
Happy editing!
P.S. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you need help with anything or simply wish to say hello. :) -M o P 07:03, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey Josh. How's it going? (PS I love all the infoboxes on your user page.) Codernaut 23:54, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edits without Discussion
Before you edit a tag from a page, can you perform the courtesy of speaking with the person from whom the tag originated? Or perhaps you could enter the discussion on the tag's purpose? The Chianti merge tag was there to generate discussion and improvement of Italian Wines. Perhaps youd like to contribute to either? Thanks! Smokey Russell 21:39, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
I do not mean to offend, but you left no comments in the talk page regarding your position. Without discussion, there is no point of the tag. As well, there are more appropriate tags if you wish to "generate discussion and improvement" of the articles in question. --Joshua Boniface 15:24, 6 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summaries
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. —Mets501 (talk) 17:13, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
Sorry 'bout that, I'll start doing it ^.^ --Joshua Boniface 20:55, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Athlon64.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Athlon64.png. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Angr 19:46, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
