KEOM (88.5 FM) is a non-profit radio station based in Mesquite, Texas. It is run by the Mesquite Independent School District, and plays oldies from the 70s. The on air staff is primarily made up of students from the five high schools in the city taking radio production classes. The station director is Dr. James Griffin. The music is programmed by a former student, Robert Bass, who has been with the station almost since its inception in 1984. KEOM also airs live broadcasts of high school sports from MISD schools, as commentated by MISD administrative officer Steve Glenn and instructor Ed Johnson, as well as one or two students chosen to intern for the sports broadcasting course.
The current instructors are Jennifer Keltner, Peggy Brooks, Brenda Wagoner, and Shondra Tharp.
