So I'm confused: were the Zanzibari slavers Arab, or not, and what are the sources for that? what is meant here by "erroneously"?Themalau 10:27, 5 April 2006 (UTC)
- I would think that this is the standard confusion when you start talking about Arab influenced cultures interacting with sub-Saharan ones, with the all the consequent intermarriage and cultural mixing. There are similar issues with the Darfur conflict page, where most of the editing appeared to be over the difference between cultural Arabs vs ethnic Arabs vs ethnic blacks, with nobody actually bothering to note that the populations are so intermixed in these border areas that distinctions are quite arbitrary. Take a look at the image on Tippu Tib and try to match it to an "Arab" stereotype. - BT 14:49, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
