Košarkaški Klub Cibona Zagreb (English: Cibona Zagreb Basketball Club) is a basketball club based in Zagreb, Croatia. It competes in the Croatian League and the Adriatic League, and is a regular participant in the Euroleague.
The most successful basketball club in Croatia, Cibona was founded in 1946 as Sloboda (Freedom). In the years that followed, the club was during various periods known as SD Zagreb (Sports Community Zagreb), Vihor (Whirlwind), Polet (Enthusiasm) and Lokomotiva (Locomotive). The name Lokomotiva was in use for 25 years.
In November 1975, the basketball portion of the club split with the sports society Lokomotiva. The main sponsors of the new club were the four giants of the Croatian food industry Kraš, Franck, Badel and Voće. The club took the name Cibona, taken from the Latin (cibus bonus) which means good food.
With a trophy case that includes at least one piece of hardware from each of the last five decades, Cibona Zagreb is consistently amongst the best clubs in European basketball.
