KRBR-FM (102.5 FM) is a Mainstream Rock radio station located in Duluth, MN. 102.5 in Duluth was a Top 40 station as KZIO until November 1996 when it switched to alternative rock as "The Bear." The station began playing active rock songs in 1998, began airing a more broad Rock format in 2002, and added a significant amount of classic rock to its playlist in 2006 to become a Mainstream Rock station.
KRBR is owned by Midwest Communications, which also owns WDSM, WGEE, KDAL-AM, KTCO, and KDAL-FM in Duluth. Its primary competitors include stations 94X (94.1 FM/104.3 FM - KZIO) and 95 KQDS.
KRBR broadcasts the syndicated Bob & Tom morning show run locally by Joe Danger the Assistant Program Director. Annie Sommers, David Burns (Burnzy) and "Average Joe" voicetrack their shows from WIXX-FM in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Midwest's flagship station. Midwest local operations manager Mark Fleischer is tracked from 1-3 but for some unknown reason stays unidentified.
