KRMD
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
KRMD is the call sign of two radio stations serving Shreveport, Louisiana. The stations are owned by Cumulus Media and are based at the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City.
[edit] AM
"SuperTalk 1340AM" is a general talk radio station.
Current programming is a mixture of political talk with Neal Boortz, G. Gordon Liddy, and Bill O'Reilly and sports talk with Tim Brando and Shreveport Times sports editor Tim Fletcher.
As of the 2006 NFL season, KRMD is the local affiliate for the Dallas Cowboys. It also carries games of the independent baseball team, the Shreveport Sports.
Until 2005, this was "1340 The Zone" and was the only all-sports station in the "Ark-La-Tex." Today, the nearest such outlet is KRRP in Coushatta, about 60 miles south of Shreveport. KRRP has a signal powerful enough to reach Shreveport during the day, but is impossible to hear there at night.
[edit] FM
"Country 101.1 FM" is a contemporary country music station.
Like all Cumulus outlets, 101.1FM dropped the Dixie Chicks from its playlist upon their controversial comments about President George W. Bush in 2003.
