KVCE is a radio station in Highland Park, Texas that services the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. The current format debuted on November 13, 2006 and features a news-talk format.[1] The station operates at 1160 khz, and operates at 35,000 watt during the day and 1,000 watts at night and is under ownership of Dallas Broadcasting.
[edit] History
The station used to broadcast on 1.150 MHz as KVIL and used the call letters KVIX from October 1985 to August 1986 and then changed back to KVIL until November 1994. The station was owned by Infinity until October 1996 when it was sold to Marcos Rodriguez who owned it until August of 2003. KVCE started out in 2001 as KBIS under a All-Motown format on AM frequency 1150 kHz. When the station moved to 1.16 MHz it was revamped as Magic 1160 adding other soul songs to the playlists, but the callsign didn't change to KMGS until June of 2005.
On August 23, 2006, the callsign changed to KVCE, to make way for a News/Talk format, which began less than a month later.
