[edit] Career
[edit] Starting out
While both were in Ohio Valley Wrestling, Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch formed a team, and were known as TNT. In June of 2005 they were "called up" to the main RAW roster and wrestled dark matches with this name.
On the August 22, 2005 edition of RAW, a vignette was shown showcasing the new tag team of Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. Cade and Murdoch were seen in a bar setting, portraying redneck characters with Cade playing the role of a smooth-talking cowboy, while Murdoch was depicted as being an angry Southern trucker.
Cade and Murdoch had their in ring debut on RAW on September 5, 2005, defeating World Tag Team Champions, Hurricane and Rosey in a non-title match. The win earned them a title shot at Unforgiven, which they won after Murdoch delivered an Elevated DDT to The Hurricane on the outside of the ring causing him to (kayfabe) suffer a stinger. They held the title for 6 weeks until Octobers' Taboo Tuesday event, where they lost to Kane and The Big Show.
[edit] Break up
Cade and Murdoch wrestled what turned out to be their final match as a tag team on November 13 (aired November 18), when they lost an inter-promotional match against SmackDown!s Road Warriors (Road Warrior Animal and Heidenreich). Two weeks later, on the November 28 RAW, Joey Styles announced in his play-by-play that Cade and Murdoch had broken up their team.
After the break up Murdoch received a small push, and challenged for the WWE Intercontinental Championship and became the WWE.com Unlimited "movie critic" while Cade debuted a new "Refined Southern Gentleman" gimmick and nickname. Though the team had quietly split up they remained "allies" and were often seen together in backstage segments. Separately they often challenged members of other tag team in singles matches and started aiding each other in matches and feuding with the team of Goldust and Gene Snitsky.
[edit] Reunited
On the April 14, 2006 edition of Heat, it was announced that Cade & Murdoch were reuniting as a tag team. They wrestled together again for the first time on the May 19 Heat in a win over Charlie Haas and Viscera. In the next few months the team racked up a number of wins on Heat, while appearing on Unlimited, cutting promos stating their intentions on winning the Tag Team Titles back.
Later in the year the two began appearing as "hired guns" for various superstars, including The McMahons (Vince and Shane) and Edge, mostly against D-Generation X (Triple H and Shawn Michaels). After this they have mainly been seen competing in matches on RAW or RAW's sister show, Heat.
