Latin words for love
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Latin distinguishes several different senses in which the word love is used.
For example, ancient Latin has the words amor, caritas, that were used to translate the Greek words eros and agape.
Now that Pope Benedict XVI has delivered his first encyclical, "Deus caritas est", in which he makes much of the distinctions between these different types of love, a guide to these Latin concepts seems needed.
