Lawrence County High School

Lawrence County High School is currently the only high school located in Lawrence County, Mississippi. It is home to the Cougars. The current principle is Darryl Scoggin. There are two assistant principles: Tarvy Ward and Leonard King. There are roughly 700 students currently attending this school.

Construction began in fall of 2006 on a science building on the west side of the campus. The floor-plan was printed in the Lawrence County Press later that year. It is going to consist of two separate science labs as well as three classrooms. Estimates show that it should be finished for the 2007-2008 school year.
