Lions for Lambs is a new drama film scheduled to be released in 2007 starring Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, and Robert Redford. The film is based on a platoon of soldiers stationed in Afghanistan, a senator, a reporter, and a college professor. It will be directed by Robert Redford.
It will be the first United Artists film produced under the Cruise/Wagner era, since Cruise fell out with Paramount Pictures, then came to an agreement with MGM to run United Artists. MGM will handle marketing and distribution.
Filming began in January 2007 on the campuses of Pitzer College and Pomona College, part of the Claremont Colleges located in Claremont, California. Robert Redford also received an honorary degree from the Claremont Graduate University.
