The Beatles are the only artists to have four number ones, three consecutively starting from 1963. Cliff Richard also spent four years at the top (with two of his own records, one with the Shadows and one as part of Band Aid 2). Paul McCartney had spent seven years at the top, four times with The Beatles, one time with Wings, one time with Band Aid and one time with Band Aid 20. The Spice Girls managed to equal having three in a row from 1996. Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is the only single to have reached the top twice at Christmas time, in 1975 and 1991, although Do They Know It's Christmas has been Christmas number one in each of its three versions. Charity song Do They Know It's Christmas? by Band Aid is the second best selling single in UK history, and many of the above songs are in the List of best selling singles (UK).
